Reduce the weight of the parts

Manufactured parts very often have too much mass and volume for the work they have to perform. It results from the need to adapt the design to the capabilities of particular manufacturing technology. Low design constraints characterize 3D printing. Parts can be designed optimally - it is their application rather than the limitations of the technology. It is of special importance in such industries as aerospace, automotive, mechanical, and plant engineering, where higher mass means higher operating costs.
